The goal of this project is to configure fVDI, which handles all low-level graphics operations, not only for the screen, but also for any type of device. In particular, VDI integrates font management and device drivers. Status: ☑️
fVDI
fVDI consists of:
- fvdi.prg: the VDI in the form of a memory-resident program
- fvdi.sys: the configuration file, a text file despite its extension inherited from the historical assign.sys file of the first GDOS
- aranym.sys : the video driver for ARAnyM
Since the executable is launched by the FreeMiNT kernel, it can be placed anywhere on the hard drive. The configuration file, however, must remain at the root of the boot drive.
